5 years ago Guilford Memorial Library news Mindy Sanborn recently became the new director at Guilford Memorial Library. Sanborn has a strong background in technology and business management. She hopes to maintain much of the home-like feeling of the library while giving patrons access to modern technologies.
5 years ago Free cider pressing event Oct 20 The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District is partnering with the East Sangerville Grange again to provide an afternoon of family fun at an upcoming cider pressing event. This event at the East Sangerville Grange on Sunday, Oct. 20 will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be packed with pressing fun and a delicious potluck lunch.

Each creamery will offer something a little different. One of the local participating creameries is Widdershins, LLC at 843 Bear Hill Road. They will be open with tours and product tastings from noon until 2 p.m.

5 years ago Masons to celebrate state and Grand Lodge bicentennials Saturday In 1820 Maine became the 23rd state, separating from Massachusetts, and the Grand Lodge of Masons in Maine was established. The first Governor of the State of Maine, William King, was also the first Grand Master of Masons in Maine. In recognition and celebration of these historic events Chris Russell, District Deputy Grand Master of Maine’s 5th Masonic District, has organized a celebration for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds.
