5 years ago Girl Scouts sign up Sept. 19 at Ridge View Girl Scouts of Maine announced that it will host new member sign-up events for potential members and volunteers at locations throughout the state every month, including at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Ridge View Community School.
5 years ago D-F women’s club news Thirteen General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)/Miosac Club members gathered at the home of Roxy McGlauflin for a porch party dinner meeting. It was a lovely meeting and club members got to watch the deer in the backyard. McGlaufin, Brenda Quiet and Betsey Ryan served as hostesses. Members brought dishes to share and all were enjoyed.

5 years ago Night of mystery at the Center Theatre The Center Theatre recently announced that the Bradford Historical Players will be presenting the murder-mystery play “Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine” at the Center Theatre on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is only $5 and proceeds will benefit both the Bradford Historical Society and the Center Theatre.
5 years ago Essential oils healing course at The Commons Beginning on Tuesday, Sept, 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and continuing for six consecutive weekly sessions, residents of greater Piscataquis County will have the opportunity to learn about essential oils from Marcia Walden, BSN, RN, and one of three registered aroma therapists in Maine. Walden is well-known throughout the region as a home-health and hospice nurse associated with Community Health and Counseling. She shares her essential oil healing expertise with her patients in her clinical work.

The funny and heartwarming play was written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom and is based on the New York Times bestselling book written by Mitch Albom. Angela Bonacasa directs the Center Theatre's production.

It promises to be a lot of fun for participants and spectators alike. It is a time when the population of Greenville swells as folks flock to the popular event. Besides watching pilots show their skills, folks can browse an excellent craft fair as well as the local shops, stop and listen to live music and enjoy delicious fare from local restaurants.
