One number shines beyond all others within the Class C North field this year  — 33.8. That’s the average points allowed by the Dexter Tigers, which should leave coach Peter Murray’s club in good stead as it bids for the team’s first regional title since 2005.

Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield earned a spot in the Class B North boys quarterfinals on Wednesday night with a 75-69 victory over Foxcroft Academy in Pittsfield.

Seventh-seeded Narraguagus High School easily defeated No. 10 Piscataquis Community High School 64-31 Tuesday, Feb. 11 during a Class C North preliminary tournament game to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Foxcroft Academy girls picked up 29 points to place eighth among 10 teams at  the 2020 Penobscot Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Feb. 8 at the University of Maine. There was a lot of use of our trails during this past weekend/week. Our groomers were out over the weekend and spent multiple times grooming the trails. They are in good shape even with the little show that is under the trails

Squaretail. It’s been awhile since that word has been used around anglers, but I like it, and miss hearing people use it. It’s one of those words that triggers the synapses and gets gray-haired anglers thinking back to canvas-covered Old Town boats and bamboo rods.
