Lady Taxalot and her Tax Mills
The Democrats have sworn an oath and probably just plain swore ... a lot, in light of the economic rebirth of the state of Maine and its even brighter future on the horizon. They have vowed to undo all of the policies of Gov. LePage and return Maine to Democrat policies, which are debt, poverty, and unemployment. Janet Mills has the plan to obstruct any forward motion this state has toward independence and turn us back to the perpetual state of dependency.

Prison walk-off escapee’s case heading to grand jury
The case against a convicted murderer and Hancock County native who is charged with escaping the Charleston prison two weeks ago will likely be heard by a grand jury. Assistant Penobscot County District Attorney Alice Clifford said she is awaiting the completion of the investigation of Arnold Nash’s escape before seeking an indictment. An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but rather a determination that enough evidence exists to bring a case to trial.

Contra dances become monthly event at The Commons at Central Hall
Contra dances held over the past few months at The Commons at Central Hall have proved so popular that they will become a regular monthly event. Part of the allure of contra dance is that a lesson is provided by the caller before the band plays each tune, so everyone has opportunities to learn. More experienced dancers and beginners are blended together as the music and the caller’s instructions move them down the line of ever-changing couples on the dance floor.
