LaGrange man charged after fleeing police on motorcycle

A LaGrange man was arrested July 24 after fleeing a traffic stop on a motorcycle in Bradford, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 23, a deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle when the driver – who was carrying a passenger – failed to pull over and fled. 

The deputy caught up to the motorcycle a short distance later when it slowed on Reeves Road. The passenger got off before the operator fled again, the sheriff’s office said. 

The deputy did not continue the pursuit but was able to get the motorcycle’s registration information.

On July 24, deputies located Albert Severance, 46, on Storer Road in Bradford and took him into custody without incident. Investigators also found the motorcycle, which had reportedly been hidden at a nearby residence on Storer Road.

Severance was charged with driving to endanger, eluding an officer, failure to register a motor vehicle, false attachment of registration plates, refusing to submit to arrest and failure to provide his correct name. He was also arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and issued several traffic citations.
