Miller, Jerome, Goulette combine for four Class C field championships

WINSLOW — Three athletes between Dexter Regional High School and Piscataquis Community High School combined for four first-place performances in field events at the 2026 Class C outdoor track and field championships on June 6 at Winslow High School.

Dexter senior Damiair Miller earned top honors in the triple jump and senior Brady Jerome won the shot as the Tigers came in eighth among 31 boys teams with a score of 35.5 points.

Miller earned the Class C title with a jump measuring 42 feet, 9 inches. He was an inch beyond the 42-08 for runner-up junior Reece Renwick of George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Miller anchored the fourth-place 4×100 relay team as juniors Tristan Hopkins-Watrous, Bodhi Langlais and Bryce Cooper and Miller combined for a time of 47.16 seconds. Miller was also fifth in the long jump at 19-03.5.

Jerome came in first in the shot put with his throw landing a distance of 47-02.75. This was about a half foot beyond the 46-08.5 for Central High School of Corinth senior Jayden LePage.

Jerome also finished fifth in the discus standings with his throw of 123-07.

Cooper tied for fifth place in the high jump as he and Spruce Mountain High School of Jay sophomore John Breton both cleared a height of 5-10.

The PCHS boys scored five points to tie Mount Abram High School of Salem Township for 26th place.

Pirate senior Noah Kain scored the five points with his fourth-place javelin throw. Kain’s implement landed a distance of 135-06.

The Penquis Valley High School boys tied Monmouth Academy for 29th place with both programs picking up three points.

Patriot senior Jareth Williams came in sixth in the 200 in 24.47 seconds.

In the girls meet, PCHS senior Ava Goulette won both the discus and shot put. 

Goulette’s 20 points helped the Pirates score 32 to finish 11th among 33 point-scoring teams.

Goulette won the discus with her throw of 107=04. This was more than 6 feet further than the throw of 100-01 for senior Jessie Willey of Hall-Dale High School of Farmingdale.

Goulette earned top shot put honors with a distance of 36-04.5. This was nearly 2.5 beyond the 33-10.75 for second place Seacoast Christian Academy of South Berwick senior Audrey O’Meara.

The girls meet had two athletes winning multiple events.

In addition to Goulette, Orono High School senior Easnadh Nobel To’olo came in first in the 110 hurdles at 15.58 seconds, triple jump at 36-03 and pole vault at 10 feet while also placing second in the long jump at 17 feet to help the Red Riots win the Class C championship.

PCHS senior Sadie Kelley finished third in the 1,600 racewalk in a time of 9:13.32.

Sophomore Ava Edes was part of a three-way tie for third in the high jump at 4-08.

Sophomore Ella Zeller came in eighth in the discus with her throw of 88-02.

Dexter scored 12.16 points to place 17th in the girls standings.

The Tiger 4×100 relay — sophomores Jemma Bullock and Asani Miller and seniors Cassidy Drew and Jazmin Channon — ran to a fourth-place performance in a time of 53.20 seconds.

Channon finished fifth in the long jump at 15-04.25.

Miller was sixth in the 200 with her time 28.12 seconds.

Freshman Crystal Adins was part of a six-way tie for eighth place in the high jump at 4-05.

The Penquis girls ended the day in a tie for 25th place with Fort Kent Community High School with six points apiece

Patriot senior Brookly Decker’s shot put throw of 32-05.5 gave her third place for the half dozen points.
