Dow-Smith hired as Jim Robinson Field House events coordinator
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Foxcroft Academy is pleased to announce the hiring of Taylor Dow-Smith ’09, via a May 8 post on the school Facebook page, as the new events coordinator at the Jim Robinson Field House. She succeeds Doug Kane ‘19, who recently stepped down from the position.
Dow is well known in the Foxcroft Academy community, having served as an assistant coach for the field hockey team for the past four years including on the 2025 Class C championship team. In addition, she has been heavily involved with Dover-Foxcroft Youth Sports and for the last 16 years has run her own local photography business — t.Dow Photography.
“I’m really excited about taking on this new position and plan to hit the ground running,” Dow-Smith said. “As a former Foxcroft athlete and parent of a future Pony athlete, I truly value the family culture that surrounds our local sports community. I want to welcome outside visitors to experience and share in the building we are so proud of, and, in turn, create more opportunities for our kids, athletically and beyond. My entrepreneurial heart sees so many pathways for other businesses to utilize the field house for their own success as well. The possibilities for this building are endless, and I hope to encourage others to expand within it.”
Head of School Arnold Shorey is pleased to welcome Dow-Smith.
“Taylor will be an outstanding addition to our staff at the Jim Robinson Field House,” he said. “She’s a proud alum and brings a strong business acumen to this position with a good knowledge of the local landscape. There is no doubt she will achieve great things for the building and its programming. I also want to extend my gratitude to outgoing Director Doug Kane for his dedication and efforts in making this building a place people want to visit and be a part of.”
