MHFCU funds thermal imaging cameras for Brownville Fire Rescue

BROWNVILLE — Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union recently donated funds to Brownville Fire Rescue for the purchase of two thermal imaging cameras. These vital tools help firefighters locate victims in fires or smoke-filled environments, identify hidden pockets of fire, assess structural stability and assist in search efforts during wilderness rescue situations.

Brownville Fire Rescue serves the communities of Brownville, Lake View Plantation, Ebeemee, Orneville, Williamsburg, Barnard, Katahdin Iron Works, T4R9 and several other unincorporated territories throughout Piscataquis County. In addition, the department provides mutual aid and support to neighboring communities across Piscataquis County and parts of Penobscot County.

CREDIT UNION CONTRIBUTION — Brownville Public Safety Director Shawn Mitchell with Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union Operations Specialist/Project Coordinator Darcie Burch. The credit union donated funds for the purchase of two thermal imaging cameras.
