MaineDOT releases work plan for projects in Piscataquis, Penobscot counties
Sen. Stacey Guerin, R–Glenburn announced that the Maine Department of Transportation has released its three-year work plan, which includes projects within Senate District 4 (all of Piscataquis County and 11 communities in Penobscot County).
This work plan includes all work by MDOT and its transportation partners for calendar years 2026, 2027 and 2028. It includes 2,798 individual work items with a total value of $4.5 billion.

Dozens of transportation projects that will take place throughout the municipalities of Senate District 4 are listed on the work plan website. Major highlights include:
Bridge structure rehabilitation of the Old Covered Bridge over the Piscataquis River on Back Road in Abbot;
Replacement of the Stinchfield Bridge over Hanson Brook on Dexter Road in Dover-Foxcroft;
Replacement of the First Bridge over Davee Brook on Route 153 in Dover-Foxcroft;
Continued maintenance of the Greenville Municipal Airport;
Replacement of multiple bridges over the Sebec River in Milo;
Continued maintenance of the Dexter Regional Airport.
“I’m grateful to see these investments coming to our communities,” said Guerin. “These projects will help keep our roads and bridges safe, support local jobs, and make it easier for families and businesses across Piscataquis and Penobscot counties to stay connected.”
