Driscoll receives Penquis Valley’s MPA Principal’s Award

MILO — Amara Driscoll of Milo, a senior at Penquis Valley High School, has been selected to receive the 2026 Principal’s Award, Principal Katie Joyner announced. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“I am proud to announce that Amara Driscoll has been selected as the recipient of the Maine Principal’s Award for Penquis Valley High School — Class of 2026,” Joyner said.

“Amaral exemplifies the highest standards of student leadership through her sustained commitment to community service, her dedication and sportsmanship in athletics and her strong record of academic achievement. She leads by example, always demonstrating integrity, responsibility and a genuine investment in the success of others.

Driscoll, Joyner and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 11.

The honors luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler and Richard A. Durost.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
