Medical assistants support physicians, family nurse practitioners and physician associates with patient care in a medical practice setting. Duties include helping practitioners with procedures, following up with patients on lab and test results, rooming patients and preloading and confirming office appointments. Medical assistants can even continue their education and training to pursue careers in nursing, medical practice management and more.

“The group embraced teamwork, worked hard and had a lot of fun,” says Nikki Chadwick, RN, MSN, CPHQ, vice president of Education and Preparedness, Northern Light Mayo, CA Dean and Sebasticook Valley Hospitals. “I’m proud of them for completing a challenging course of study in a short time. They are well prepared to start their new careers, and I wish them the best as they begin caring for our community.”
