2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maine
The 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maine will officially begin on Tuesday, June 3, uniting law enforcement officers from across the state as they carry the Flame of Hope through dozens of communities on its journey to the Special Olympics Maine State Summer Games, beginning on Friday, June 6 at the University of Maine in Orono.
The 17th and final leg is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, starting in Dover-Foxcroft and ending in either Dexter or Newport (location to be determined).
Hundreds of law enforcement officers from local, county, state and federal agencies will participate in this year’s run, raising awareness and critical funds for over 5,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across Maine. The LETR is Special Olympics Maine’s largest grassroots fundraising effort and a powerful demonstration of partnership between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
The run concludes with a dramatic Final Leg arrival on June 6, when the Flame of Hope will enter the opening ceremonies at the University of Maine, officially igniting the 2025 State Summer Games.
The full 2025 LETR route includes multiple legs happening statewide.
