EMDC awards over $1M to small businesses, new application period now open

BANGOR — Applications for the next round of Eastern Maine Development Corporation’s Economic Recovery Hub grants are now open. Eligible small businesses to apply for funding to support their operational and growth needs. This new application period underscores EMDC’s commitment to fostering a strong small business community throughout Eastern Maine and Penobscot County.

The grants are specifically designed to assist small businesses launched after January 2020 and those within underserved communities, aiming to accelerate the recovery of local economies impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. EMDC’s Economic Recovery Implementation Regional Hub program, in collaboration with the State’s Department of Economic and Community Development, has been instrumental in providing these grants while offering vital resources, technical assistance, and personalized consultations.

Eastern Maine Development Corporation is pleased to announce that it has already awarded over $1 million in grants to small businesses throughout the region. This significant investment has supported economic resilience, growth, and innovation, enabling recipient businesses to adapt and innovate in the face of ongoing challenges.
