Brenda Quiet thanked members for signing up for hostessing and program chairs for next year.

New business:

Raymond explained how the club chooses candidates or causes for the yearly donations from the MIOSAC Club. Last year, based on the treasury amount, we donated to two causes. This year they would like to choose three at $200 each. Please have possible presentations at the next meeting to vote on.

GFWC Maine Sprint Convention is May 11-12 in Bangor. Those wanting to have hotel accommodations should reply by the end of April or sooner. Registration forms will be ready soon to attend.

President McCormick brought lap quilts to show which she had made for handouts to possibly the police department to be given out to youngsters — awaiting a response. Other members might be interested in making more for this project.

Moschella had a correction to the last newspaper article. Change jar monies will go to the GFWC Maine president’s project which is mental health. The “Pound Party” monies will go to the education scholarship fund.

McCormick read a spring poem, “Scatter Seeds of Kindness.”

Meeting was adjourned.

Program Chair Michaud presented Clara Lucier as her program subject. Lucier is a chef, worked at the Brown Derby, lived in Chile at an electric mining company, is fluent in three languages, moved to Maine a few years ago, and now works at Peace, Love & Waffles. She shared her knowledge of how to pick the food you buy, and how to preserve your fresh fruits and vegetables for longer periods of time — a wonderful presentation.

We shared delicious snacks and cakes brought by the hostesses Leighton and Lucier.
