Birthday whoopie pie and yard sale benefits Milo food pantry and Sebec Village Associates

SEBEC — Community support for the third annual “Jimmy Mike’s Birthday Whoopie Pie and Yard Sale for Charity” was tremendous. More than $2,200 was donated, mostly for the whoopie pies which have a reputation as being the best in Maine. Jimmy Mike presented John Cram with a check of more than $1,100 for Dyer’s Hope House in Milo. The rest of the money will be added to the building fund of the Sebec Village Associates.

All purchases were by donation, and two donors generously gifted $200, so Barbara Mauzy will be baking six dozen more whoopie pies for these individuals to enjoy and to share. Next year’s event will be on Sunday, Sept. 24, two days before Jimmy Mike’s 80th birthday. Please mark your calendar to participate in this delicious fundraiser.
