New Northern Light CA Dean Hospital building ‘topped off’ at special ceremony
GREENVILLE — Employees, hospital supporters, patients, and community members gathered on Friday, Sept. 9 to watch the final steel beam placed on the Buck Family Building, Northern Light CA Dean Hospital’s future main hospital building.
Hundreds of employees and community members have signed the beam over the past week. Their signatures will be a permanent part of the new hospital building for decades to come.
“We’ve arrived at this important moment thanks to the incredible support we’ve received from our donors and community and the hard work of our staff, the architects, and the construction crew,” says Marie Vienneau, FACHE, president, CA Dean Hospital. “It’s truly an honor to join those who are here to celebrate this special time in our hospital’s history.”
The new hospital will be a modern, patient and family-focused facility built for how healthcare is delivered today. It will include private patient rooms, a 24/7 emergency department, imaging and lab, and more. A new ambulance building and helipad and renovation of the existing East Wing are also part of the project.
The roof will be added to the structure in the coming days. Work will continue through the winter months in preparation for a summer, 2023 opening. For more information, please visit www.northernlighthealth.org/CADeanPromise.
