Three-for-one deal on Dexter bail check

DEXTER — When Dexter police went to a Pleasant Street home for a bail check on Aug. 6, they got more than they bargained for.
While the person they sought on the bail check wasn’t home, they wound up taking three others into custody.

They arrested Joshua Covell, 34, on charges of unlawful possession of schedule Z drugs; and Matthew Calhoun, 22, of Dexter and Reva Cowette, 25, of Detroit, on outstanding warrants for unpaid fines. All three were later released on bail.
Officers Gary Morin and Allen Drew made the arrests, assisted by Chief Kevin Wintle and Sgt. Alan Grinnel.
