Casey named Foxcroft Academy’s Principal’s Award winner

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Senior Liam Casey of Dover-Foxcroft has been selected to receive Foxcroft Academy’s 2017 MPA Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA), is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Liam fits all the criteria for this MPA Principal’s Award to a T,” said Head of School Arnold Shorey. “He is a leader through his actions and a true model of integrity, persistence, work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to excellence. More importantly, Liam is fine young man who cares about his peers, school and community. Foxcroft Academy has benefited tremendously from him being a part of the Pony Herd.”
Casey and Shorey will attend an Honors Luncheon with other award winners and their principals at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 1 at 12:30 p.m.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque, a lapel pin and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler. McGowan and Tyler were former Maine principals and executive directors of the MPA.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
