Maurice Noel Fitzgerald, 84, transitioned on his own terms on July 21, 2016, of natural causes. He was born on March 22, 1932, in Ft. Kent, the son of Willy and Laura Fitzgerald.
He was a devoted husband to Alice Morrison Fitzgerald for 64 years, and a compassionate father to Michael James Fitzgerald and Cindy Fitzgerald Malcolm; he was a caring brother to Reginald, Paul, Marilda and Clarence Fitzgerald; and a loving grandfather to Seana Drogittis, Kurt Fitzgerald, Abby Fitzgerald, Alexandra Fitzgerald and Hannah Malcolm; great-grandfather to John, Matthew and Julia Drogittis and Maya Ferguson; and a best friend to Joseph “Archie” Beaulieu.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Aug. 5 at First Congregational Church of Millinocket, 274 Katahdin Ave., Millnocket, with the Rev. Terry Given, pastor, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Millinocket Cemetery.
