Crews from multiple towns fight early morning Charleston house fire

By Wendy Watkins, Bangor Daily News Staff

CHARLESTON — Firefighters from several towns battled a house fire early Sunday morning, April 6 in Charleston.

According to Charleston Fire Chief Ethan Amero, firefighters faced difficult conditions while extinguishing the blaze, which was located in the 200 block of Charleston Road.

When they arrived on the scene a little before 1 a.m., they found a working structure fire, he said.

“Crews worked very hard on this fire for over five hours, and were able to keep the fire from spreading to the garage. We also were able to pull out some personal belongings for the homeowners,” Amero said in a statement.

There was no word about what may have caused the fire.
