Dover-Foxcroft town manager departs for Pittsfield position
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Longtime Dover-Foxcroft Town Manager Jack Clukey has started work as town manager in Pittsfield.
During a special meeting of the Pittsfield Town Council on Jan. 28 an appointment and employment agreement was approved. The agreement is for 3.5 years from Jan. 28 through Sept. 28, 2028. Clukey had worked in Dover-Foxcroft for 21 years.
A post on the Town of Pittsfield Facebook page said Clukey’s first day was Monday, Feb. 3.
A post on the Town of Dover-Foxcroft Facebook page said the community extends “heartfelt congratulations to Jack Clukey on his new opportunity in Pittsfield. While we will miss his leadership and dedication here in Dover-Foxcroft and throughout Piscataquis County, we are incredibly grateful for his years of unwavering service to our community. Jack’s commitment, hard work, and vision have made a lasting impact, and we know he will bring the same passion and excellence to his new role. Wishing him all the best in this next chapter!”
Following two decades in the position, Clukey announced last fall that he would be stepping down in January as the select board accepted his resignation on Oct. 15. Clukey said then he had other career goals and challenges he wanted to pursue.
Late last month Dover-Foxcroft Communications Director/Project Manager Alsina Brenenstuhl was appointed by the select board to serve as interim town manager following Clukey’s departure.
In the summer Brenenstuhl was hired to fill the then newly-created communications director/project manager position.
At the Jan. 27 select board meeting, Chair Tom Lizotte said the board was unsure how long Brenenstuhl will serve as interim town manager with the interview process ongoing.
