Cold Hands & Warm Hearts: A luncheon to fight hunger
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Join us for a heartwarming event in February as the Piscataquis Regional Food Center hosts its inaugural Cold Hands & Warm Hearts Luncheon. Together, we will raise funds to combat hunger in the Maine Highlands region and celebrate the contributions of our 2025 Hunger Hero, Sue Mackey Andrews.
The event will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Central Hall Commons. This special luncheon invites community members to come together to support the fight against hunger while enjoying a delicious meal and recognizing Mackey Andrews for her extraordinary efforts in addressing food insecurity in our region.
Guests are encouraged to bring donations of a can of soup and a new hat, mittens, or gloves to help warm the hands, and hearts of the hundreds of households served by The Food Center each week.
“This luncheon is not only a chance to enjoy a meal together but also a way to make a tangible difference for families in need during the coldest months of the year,” said Kelly Sirimoglu, PRFC’s executive director. “It also gives us an opportunity to recognize the contributions Sue for all that she does to help fight hunger in our community.”
Proceeds from the event will directly support PRFC’s programs, including food distribution and community partnerships that address the unique challenges of food insecurity in rural Maine.
Tickets are available online at https://www.prfoodcenter.org/warmhearts. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot today!
