Start a career in the medical field with free CNA training in Greenville

GREENVILLE — Northern Light CA Dean Hospital will hold a free certified nursing assistant training program in Greenville for people who would like to pursue a rewarding career in healthcare.

Students accepted into the course will receive training at no cost and be paid for time spent learning in the classroom and hospital. The combination of education and work time (as a patient experience aide) will make students full-time employees while in training.

“CNAs earn competitive pay and benefits, enjoy career flexibility, and best of all, have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of their patients every day. Plus, CNA experience is a good foundation for people who may want to pursue careers in nursing and other clinical fields,” says Nikki Chadwick, RN, MSN, CPHQ, vice president of education and preparedness, one of the instructors for the course.

Certified nursing assistants are vital members of the care team supporting both patients and nurses. CNA duties include taking vital signs, documenting, transporting, and providing basic care and assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing and feeding.

Students who successfully complete the course and the state board examination will receive certification and transition to full time CNA positions at CA Dean Hospital.

The program, offered in collaboration with AR Gould Hospital and MSAD1 Adult & Community Education, runs from December to February 2025. No clinical experience is necessary to apply.
