Dexter cheer finishes second at PVC championship

MILLINOCKET — The Dexter Regional High School cheer team finished in second place at the 2024 Penobscot Valley Conference Class C championship on Saturday, Jan. 27 at Stearns High School.
MILLINOCKET — The Dexter Regional High School cheer team finished in second place at the 2024 Penobscot Valley Conference Class C championship on Saturday, Jan. 27 at Stearns High School. The Tigers, who also were second a year ago, had the second-highest score among the 14 Class C programs.
Next will be the Class C North championship at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Cony High School of Augusta. The top eight teams move on to the Class C championship, a week later at the Augusta Civic Center.
In the closest competition of the four 2023 state cheering championships at the Augusta Civic Center on Feb. 11, the Lisbon-St. Dominic’s of Auburn cooperative squeaked by Dexter by only .20 points (78.40-78.20) to defend its C title and win its third crown in five years.
