A Tomhegan Township man allegedly used an excavator to damage a Cianbro worksite in Moscow.
Alex Stanley, 37, has been charged with burglary, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, and aggravated criminal mischief, according to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster.
The vandalism was discovered on June 8 at the worksite off Stream Road.
Stanley allegedly brought an excavator to the worksite and used it to dig up ground wire from a wind tower station. He also is accused of damaging building doors and fences.
He allegedly stole a large amount of copper and ground wire.
Lancaster said the estimated value of the stolen goods and the cost to repair the damage is approximately $200,000.
Stanley was arrested about 4 a.m. at the Cianbro worksite.
He was taken to the Somerset County Jail in Madison, where he was later released on $2,500 bail. His bail includes the condition that Stanley not return to the Cianbro worksite.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 7.
