“We asked the students to create artwork that would go on our Christmas Carol posters and cast T-shirt,” said Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director. “We were absolutely blown away by the great artwork the students created.”
Myers said four pieces were chosen to be on four different versions of the “A Christmas Carol” poster and one of those four winners was chosen to be on the cast T-shirt. The four winners of the contest were Elizabeth Richards from grade 3 and seventh-graders Ava Rayfield, Maranda Poulin and Annabelle Rhoda. Rhoda’s design was chosen for the cast T-shirt.
Myers said that choosing the winners was so difficult that they also selected 12 honorable mentions. The honorable mentions were third-graders Jack Murray, Flynn Schriver, Zeikal Eigenmann and Silas Topolski, second-grader Kristopher “Ryan” McLellan, seventh-grader Luke Stedman and eighth-graders Mollie Brawn, Taylor Hibbard, Olivia Johnson, Makenzie Pearl, Cheyanne Skomars and Natalie Robinson.
The posters will begin being seen around the community in the next weeks and the T-shirts will be ready within a couple weeks. Anyone wanting to see the four winning posters can go to www.centertheatre.org and click on the event listing for Christmas Carol. The four winning entries as well as the honorable mentions will be on display in the Center Theatre lobby and at the Center Coffee House in December.
