PINE TREE HOSPICE BENEFIT CONCERT The Mallett Brothers Band will perform at Foxcroft Academy on Sunday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m., with concert proceeds to benefit Pine Tree Hospice. The band includes brothers and Foxcroft Academy graduates Luke and Will Mallett.

Band member Will Mallett said, “The Piscataquis County community is very near and dear to us, and we’re very excited about this opportunity to give back to that community. We also can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday than with some good friends in the hometown!”

The Mallett Brothers Band is a nationally touring country rock and roll/Americana band with Maine roots. Led by brothers Luke and Will Mallett — respective 2001 and 2003 graduates of Foxcroft Academy — the band is rounded out by Brian Higgins on drums, Nick Leen on bass, Wally on dobro and electric guitar, and sometimes filled out by Matt Mills on lead guitar, pedal steel and banjo.  The Mallett Brothers Band’s latest CD “Lights Along The River”, released this year, is loaded with the kind of gritty Americana roots rock that these boys from Maine have become so well respected for. Their sound has been described as having “organic, earthy substance and fiery passion.” The band combines its authentic roots rock sound with a reflective lyrical style featuring both acoustic and electric guitars.

Tickets to the concert will be sold at the door; no advance ticket sales.
