Church raises funds for cancer patient gas cards
BROWNVILLE — On Nov. 30, 16 brave souls gathered around the Memory Tree of Lights in the pavilion of the Brownville Community Church-UCC to sing Christmas carols as the tree was lighted in memory of loved ones. Proceeds from the sale of lights were used to purchase gas cards which were given to Mayo Regional Hospital’s Oncology Department to help defray the cost of travel for those receiving treatment for cancer.
Many thanks go to everyone who donated and to the businesses who supported the effort.
