MONSON, ME – Robert S. O’Brien, formerly of Brighton and Marshfield, MA, passed away on March 2, 2014, at the age of 77. Husband of the late Maurietta M. “Mori” (Butts) O’Brien, loving father of Caroline K. LaBelle and her husband, Thomas of Taunton, MA, and Heather E. Clang and her husband, Alan of Mansfield, MA, dear “Papa O.B.” of Jessica and Benjamin LaBelle and Lauren, Olivia and Sophia Clang, brother of the late William H. O’Brien.
    Robert was born in Melrose, MA, and served in the U.S. Army. He moved his family to Monson, ME, in 1976, where he enjoyed the farm life, many pets, and collecting anything and everything. He worked as a truck driver and mechanic, and loved antique cars.
    A memorial mass will be held on June 7, 2014, at 10 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 43 High St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, with a gathering after at the rectory for refreshments and remembrances. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
