Man charged in Parkman shooting incident
PARKMAN — A 29-year-old Cambridge man was arrested on Jan. 10 on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm following a shooting incident in Parkman.
According to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department, a report came in from Mayo Regional Hospital’s emergency room that an adult male on the Wellington Road in Parkman had been shot in the thigh with a .45 caliber handgun.
The suspect, Torrey Tremblay, was known to the victim and was located in Cambridge by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. Piscataquis County Sheriff John Goggin went to the scene and placed Tremblay under arrest.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, Tremblay made his initial appearance in Dover-Foxcroft District Court where bail was set at $2,500 cash or $15,000 single surety. He has been released on bail.
The gun used in the shooting has been recovered by the sheriff’s office, according to Chief Deputy Bob Young, and the victim is in stable condition and recovering.
The sheriff’s department has received conflicting accounts regarding what led to the incident and is still investigating the circumstances, including the motive.
The Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department was also assisted by the state police and Dover-Foxcroft Police Department.
