D-F women’s club plants pinwheels for Child Abuse Prevention Month

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Miosac Club of Dover-Foxcroft, members of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Maine designated April 13 as the day to place blue pinwheels out on the lawn around the big tree in front of the United Methodist Church on East Main Street — it is very visible there. Every year, April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and we and all of you should of course take this very seriously. We partake in placing the pinwheels out each year showing awareness and care.

Four ladies from our club gathered with trusty screw rivers (to help us make holes deep enough) to “plant” the pinwheels. The ladies were Brenda Quiet, Rheba Michaud, Minnie McCormick and Vicki Moschella.

McCormick also had dozens of colored pinwheels that she placed in her front yard on West Main Street, past  Dunkin.
