    Gary Larson, 69 of Dover-Foxcroft, ran in the 85th annual Patriots’ Day 5-Miler on April 21 in Portland.

    The Foxcroft Academy boys outdoor track and field team began the 2014 season by taking part in an 8-team meet at Bucksport on April 25.

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The 42nd annual Piscataquis River Race, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft, is scheduled to run Saturday, April 26.

    ROME — The Maine Snowmobile Association recognized a number of snowmobile club volunteers and friends of Maine snowmobiling during the association annual meeting April 12 at the Pine Tree Camp on the shores of North Pond.

    Due to the impact of this year’s severe winter in northern Maine, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has suspended the spring wild turkey hunt in portions of northern Maine, specifically Wildlife Management Districts 1-6.
