GREENVILLE — Scenic and ecologically significant lands on and around Baker Mountain in the 100-Mile Wilderness region are now permanently protected following purchases by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) in late January, with assistance from The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

Rich caps career with best performance at state ski championships     Foxcroft Academy senior Annie Rich closed out a great career by placing 20th in the giant slalom and 21st in the slalom at the Class C ski championships at Big Rock Mountain in Mars Hill on Feb.

    All three of the area’s Class C schools were represented on the Penobscot Valley Conference’s postseason honors lists.
