To the Editor; Driving past the Piscataquis County Ice Arena today (March 16) I noticed the parking lot was full and folks were directing incoming traffic.

To the Editor; I appreciated Thomas College President Laurie Lachance’s recent OpEd highlighting a recent report on the scarcity of child care in rural Maine.

To the Editor; One of the basic ideas of a democracy is that government is “of the people”; our officials are popularly elected not just to lead but to serve and represent all the people in their constituencies.

To the Editor; The need for increased availability of quality child care and early childhood education has been recently highlighted in the Bangor Daily News by Thomas College President Laurie Lachance and retired Brig.

To the Editor; Elected officials like the county commissioners are supposed to make decisions based on what is good for their communities, not for personal retribution.

To the Editor; It is my understanding that the Piscataquis County Commissioners were given a letter to sign in support of the Center Theater.

To the Editor; I think our current Maine flag is beautiful and I fly it proudly! I do not like the pine tree and star being a replacement.

To the Editor; As Thomas College President Laurie Lachance pointed out in a recent opinion piece, high-quality child care that is accessible and affordable is critical to Maine’s future.
