From 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 there will be a Contra Dance at The Commons at Central Hall. This a change, for this month only, from our usual second Fridays.

A happy mood was felt by the 40-plus people at the Dexter-Age Friendly Tea Talk held at Gatherings 4 Main Street on Feb. 13 when members of the Central Maine Country Music Association played some new and familiar country songs.

You are invited to attend Pine Tree Hospice’s “It’s All About You” from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at the Guilford United Methodist Church. All area caregivers will have the opportunity to be pampered through massage therapy, manicures, guided meditation, Reiki and more.

On Feb. 5 the Sangerville Public Library hosted Chewonki's StarLab at Piscataquis Community Elementary School for all fifth-graders. StarLab is a portable, inflatable planetarium that introduces features of the night sky and explains how stars are formed. It also shows us human history with the constellations above, from early mythological characters to modern navigation.

The public is cordially invited to a concert of classical music performed by The Highlands Classical Chamber Ensemble at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Greenville High School auditorium, located at 130 Pritham Avenue. Solos, duos and ensemble works for violin, cello, piano, saxophone, flute and bassoon, will be presented, including works by Haydn, Brahms, Kodaly, Gershwin and Kalliwoda.

The first session in this program series is our Snowshoe Adventure at the Law Farm from 12:30-3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. There is a snow day for this event, Saturday, Feb. 22 with the same time and location. Registration is required and open for this fun outdoor program.

The Sangerville Historical Society will hold its January meeting  in the Community Room at the town hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The January Dexter Tea Talk featured speaker and musical performer Rose Hinkley, director of the Central Maine Country Music Association, presented information about charitable work and membership within her organization on Jan. 9 at Gatherings 4 Main St.

The Center Theatre and Slightly Off-Center Players Community Theater Group are hosting a Valentine's Day mystery dinner party at the Commons Event Center at Central Hall. The dinner party titled "Happily Never After" will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 The event is suitable for all ages and everyone in attendance will be part of solving the evening's mystery.

CourageLIVES and the Penquis Sex Trafficking Action Response Team (START) will host four free and open to the public events as part of Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month in January. All events will feature a film screenin of “Gridshock,” a documentary about human trafficking, followed by a panel discussion with local experts.

Be part of the first joint production of Foxcroft Academy, SeDoMoCha School and the Center Theatre by auditioning for the spring 2020 production of “Oliver!” Auditions will be held at the Center Theatre from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13.

Great fun, food, presents and people were part of the Dexter Book Club's "Second Day of Christmas" party at the Abbott Memorial Library on Dec. 26.
