A crowd of 7,000 fans whoop it up at Saturday’s Maine Whoopie Pie Festival

The Center Theatre and lead sponsor Shaw's Supermarket announced that 7,000 people attended the 2018 Maine Whoopie Pie Festival on Saturday, June 23. The festival brings bakers from around the state together with artists, crafters, and vendors to celebrate the whoopie pie, Maine's Official State Treat.

Mallett Brothers Band concert packs the Lakeshore House

Once again the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival kicked off on the Saturday morning with the Piscataquis Regional YMCA’s Earn Your Whoopie Pie 3K and Kids’ 1K Fun Run, with both races starting on River Street on June 23.

Portalatin finishes seventh in Shipyard Old Port Half-Marathon

Rico Portalatin, 47 of Milo, turned in one of the top times at the 2018 Shipyard Old Port Half-Marathon on June 23. Portalatin covered the 13.1 miles in 1 hour, 17 minutes and 27 seconds, placing him seventh overall in a field of 2,825 finishers.

The plain looking survey arrives as a brochure-size trifold on plain white paper marked “Legislative Survey Enclosed,” with an upper left corner black-and-white photo of my State Rep.
