Y presents New Year’s Challenge

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA recently announced a New Year’s Challenge to area businesses and organizations.

The Y is looking for 4-person teams to compete in the challenge for fun, prizes and to start the year off focusing on healthy living. The 6-week challenge will run from Jan. 11 through Feb. 15.

Each member of the team will weigh in at the beginning of the challenge and each week thereafter. The Y will track each team’s total weight and percentage of body fat.

At the end of the six weeks, the team with the largest percentage reduction in weight and body fat will be the winner and each team member will win a 3-month adult membership at the Y.

Ryan Nickerson, one of the Y’s personal trainers, will be overseeing the program. Team members will receive special discounts on personal training either individually or with their team. The cost to participate is $100 per team and you do not need to be a member of the Y to participate.

For more information on the New Year’s Challenge or to register, please call the Y at 564-7111 or stop by anytime at 48 Park Street in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Piscataquis Regional YMCA is a mission-driven organization that is committed to the community and dedicated to promoting healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs and services grounded in Christian heritage and the core values of caring, honest, respect and responsibility.
