Kiwanis Club announces its schedule for the summer

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Club President Deb Somers announced the upcoming spring and summer schedule for the Kiwanis Club.
    The first event will be this weekend’s with the 41st annual Piscataquis River Race on April 27, she said. This will be followed on May 31 to June 2 with the Piscataquis Heritage Balloon Festival co-hosted by the Kiwanis Club and the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce.

    On June 15 the club will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a banquet at Foxcroft Academy. This will be a major event for our club Somers said. Kiwanis Clubs from Maine and New England are expected to attend the banquet, she added.
    The annual Kiwanis Auction will be held on July 25-27 at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds in Dover-Foxcroft. Once again the event will feature the bargain and book barns, food trailers, raffles beside the auction Somers said.
    On Aug. 3 the club will have a food booth for the fireworks at Sebec Lake as part of the Dover-Foxcroft Homecoming Somers said. On Aug. 8 the Kiwanis will also conduct a blood drive, to be held at the Morton Avenue Gym.
