Kendall V. Farrar

    BROWNVILLE JCT. – Kendall V. Farrar, 85, husband of 45 years of the late Noella (Edwards) Farrar, died March 25, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born October 20, 1927, in Brownville Jct., the eldest child of Archie and Ada (Doyle) Farrar.
    He graduated from Jonesport High School, Class of 1946, and Husson College, Bangor. Kendall retired from the Canadian-Pacific Railroad with 35-years of service. He was a member of Pleasant River Masonic Lodge No. 163 AF & AM, Anah Shriners, and St. John’s Commandery No. 3.
    He is survived by a daughter, Natalie Hamlin and her husband, Mark and two very special grandchildren, Claire and Matthew, all of Dover-Foxcroft; five brothers, Charles Farrar of Plymouth, Leon Farrar and his wife, Barbie, Ralph Farrar, Bert Farrar and his wife, Sue, and Walter Farrar and his wife, Deanna, all of Brownville Jct. He is also survived by many nieces, nephew and cousins, including Gerald MacLean and his wife, Mary, of Bangor. He was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn MacDonald and Lucille Ireland; and a brother, Vaughn Farrar.
    The family would like to send deepest thanks to Dr. Fernow, and the very caring staff of Hibbard Nursing Home. Family was very important to Dad and without whose love and devotion, many of the challenges he faced in the past few years could not have been overcome. Physical challenges are only that, a challenge.  They are not an end. Dad faced life’s challenges with dignity and with the understanding that all problems could be solved with enough determination and ingenuity. We will fondly remember all of the projects from his woodshop, fishing at Upper Ebeeme, and our summers at Camp Seashell.
    A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at the family lot in Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Jct.
