DENTAL HEALTH MONTH POSTER WINNERS — In February the School Oral Health Program of the Maine CDC and the Maine Dental Hygienists’ Association sponsored a poster contest for National Children’s Dental Health Month. Posters were created by students to illustrate the importance of good oral health. Ideas such as eating nutritious foods, having regular dental checkups, getting dental sealants, brushing and flossing every day, and wearing mouth guards are all needed to have a healthy smile. Poster winners at SeDoMoCha Elementary School in Dover-Foxcroft were second-grader Annie Raynes, left, and grade 4 student Alyssa Boyd. Raynes and Boyd will have their posters displayed in the office of the Maine CDC in Augusta and these creations will be considered for the state prizes.
