Maine GOP Chair coming to address county Republicans

PO BENNETTMUG 32 15679705DOVER-FOXCROFT — Maine Republican Party Chairman Rick Bennett will address the Piscataqus County Republican Committee on Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Piscataquis Room at Mayo Regional Hospital. The public is welcome to attend.

Bennett, a resident of Oxford, was elected chairman in July 2013 and re-elected unanimously on Feb. 14.

The former president of the Maine Senate, Bennett represented western Maine for four terms in the Maine Senate, from 1996 to 2004. From 1990-94 he served two terms in the Maine House of Representatives. In 1994 he was the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Maine’s second district losing narrowly  to John Baldacci. Bennett ran for the U.S. Senate in 2012, finishing third behind Bruce Poliquin and Charlie Summers.
