Stillwater winding down Wayside’s 2026 final concert series

DEXTER — Wayside Grange & Theatre is excited to host the band Stillwater on Saturday, Oct. 24, which will be the last concert for the 2026 season.

Stillwater is a bluegrass quintet founded in 2023 on the banks of the Stillwater River in Old Town and features Trip Nickel (guitar), Yoni Musher (mandolin), Kiera Luu (double bass), George Horvat (fiddle), (previously) Noah Vaughn Jackson (banjo) and Jack Pasternak (dobro).

Stillwater has emerged as a motivated and hardworking new voice in the New England Bluegrass scene. Drawing upon inspiration in jazz, bluegrass, jam band, folk and old-time genres, Stillwater crafts a multi-faceted and memorable experience for listeners.

Featured on competition and showcase stages at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass  Festival, Podunk bluegrass festival, Ossipee Valley Music Festival, the Downeast Rock and Roots Festival and the Crooked River Gathering, Stillwater has made the most of their short time together, leaving an air of excitement for future releases and shows. Original works on  their 2024 debut single “Piney Point” and latest release “The Cedar House Sessions Vol. 1” tell  stories of adolescence, young adulthood and all the complicated emotions attached.

Stillwater released their most recent album “Stillwater” on Bandcamp and CD in the spring of 2026, marking the third release in an ever growing collection of their work.

Set for November, the next release features honorary and former member Noah Vaughn Jackson on banjo.

“Everyone in this band is so dedicated to their playing- both individually and as a team. It has been a joy to watch each one of them develop into their own unique style and talent as musicians over the past few years. Together they bring a thoughtful passion and creativity to their soul grabbing music that distinguishes them from the rest of traditional bluegrass,” anonymous audience member.

The Wayside Grange & Theatre mission is to entertain the Penquis area with a wide variety of music, some of which stems from the area and while others travel a great distance to bring you top notch entertainment.

Many thanks to McKusick Petroleum who consistently partners with Wayside bringing you a great variety of music to our region. We thank them for their generosity in time & donations, which helps continue the Wayside Grange & Theatres “Music Mission”.

The historic Wayside Grange building is in North Dexter and creates the perfect  setting for music and theatre. The building has served the North Dexter community since 1919 and continues to provide quality and family friendly entertainment.

During intermission the Wayside Grange Kitchen is open for homemade light desserts and “pretty good” coffee, and is funded by donations which are used for Wayside Grange & Theatre Projects. At 6:30 p.m. the doors open and the concert starts at 7 p.m. There is no need for reservations.

The Grange volunteers have improved the comfort level at the Grange Hall. We also have access at the ground level entrance with a chair lift if needed. Wayside Grange & Theatre can be found at 851 North Dexter Road (Route 23).
