Dover-Foxcroft police seek vehicle after man found dead on side of road

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Dover-Foxcroft police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle after a 73-year-old Cambridge man was found dead on the side of a road last week.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Dover-Foxcroft police are asking for the public’s help identifying a vehicle after a 73-year-old Cambridge man was found dead on the side of a road last week.
According to the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, Barry Lial’s body was found at about 8 p.m. Wednesday on North Street.

Police at first said they didn’t think Lial’s death was caused by a hit-and-run crash because of limited evidence, but after working with the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North, they now believe he was struck by a vehicle as he crossed North Street.
Police released a video of a light-colored sedan that was traveling north on North Street between Summer Street and Winter Street. The vehicle may have hood and/or windshield damage.
