Piano concert Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Church

SANGERVILLE — Pianist Margery Aumann will present a concert of classical music on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sangerville and Dover-Foxcroft, on Church Street. Admission is by donation, which will be shared with the church.

The program will include the “Pathetique” Sonata of Beethoven, one of his most beloved works.  “Woodland Sketches” by the American composer Edward MacDowell, iconic pictures of rural America, will also be played. Aumann will conclude with Franz Liszt’s  “Vallee d’Obermann”, one of his monumental works for the piano. The audience will be invited to join in singing “You Never Walk Alone” from the musical “Carousel” by Rodgers and Hammerstein at the conclusion of the piano program.
