Penquis’ ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ school supply drive

BANGOR — Penquis is launching its annual “We’ve Got Your Back” school supply drive, inviting community members to donate new backpacks, school supplies or funds to help 1,200 children begin the school year with confidence.

“We’ve Got Your Back” is a partnership between Penquis and Blueberry Broadcasting, proudly sponsored by Katahdin Trust and Bangor International Airport. The campaign provides high-quality backpacks and essential school supplies to children in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties each year, helping students start the school year strong.

Community members are invited to support the effort at a fill the bus event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Bangor Walmart, 900 Stillwater Ave.

“Through ‘We’ve Got Your Back’, we see what is possible when local businesses, sponsors, media partners, and neighbors come together for children,” Renae Muscatell, community relations manager at Penquis, said. “Every backpack and school supply donated helps students walk into the new school year prepared, supported, and ready to start strong.”

Community members can help by bringing new backpacks and school supplies to the Walmart collection event, donating online at www.penquis.org or texting GIVEBACKPACKS to 44321.
