BOAT FIRE — Two people were rescued July 8 after a fire broke out on their boat near Sugar Island on Moosehead Lake.

Two people were rescued July 8 after flames engulfed their boat on Moosehead Lake.
The fire broke out on the boat about 12:11 p.m. near Sugar Island, according to the Greenville Firefighters Association.
Both occupants fled into the water, and nearby boaters brought them to safety.

BOAT FIRE — Two people were rescued July 8 after a fire broke out on their boat near Sugar Island on Moosehead Lake.
One was treated and released at the scene, while the other was taken to C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville for burns not considered life-threatening.
The boat was towed to nearby Lily Bay State Park, where crews extinguished the flames.
