Brewer man dies after rear-ending tractor trailer in Greenville

GREENVILLE — A Brewer man died on Tuesday morning, June 23  after crashing into the rear end of a tractor trailer in the Piscataquis County town of Greenville.

The crash was reported at about 10 a.m. near 482 Moosehead Lake Road.

First responders determined that Daniel Michaud, 39, of Brewer, was driving south in a work van when he hit the rear end of the tractor trailer that was stopped at a traffic light in a construction zone, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Michaud died of injuries from the crash.

Moosehead Lake Road was closed for several hours while members of the Greenville Police and Fire Departments and the Maine State Police processed and reconstructed the crash scene.

Police ruled out speed or alcohol as factors in the crash.
