Free Produce Pop-Up Market returns to Dover-Foxcroft

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Northern Light Mayo Hospital, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Piscataquis County and the Piscataquis Regional Food Center are excited to host a free Produce Pop-Up Market from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17 at Northern Light Mayo Hospital, 897 West Main St.

The market will provide the community with access to fresh fruits and vegetables, making it easy for individuals and families to add healthy food to the dinner table.

Free Fuel for Fun Snack Bags will be available for kids.

According to the Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment, nearly 17% of residents and 25% of youth in the region are food insecure. While individuals experiencing food insecurity are encouraged to attend, the market is open to anyone who would like fresh fruits and vegetables.

Attendees are asked to bring reusable bags to put their produce in, if available.

Food for the pop-up produce market is provided by the Piscataquis Regional Food Center.
