Keeton earns top JV high jump honors

HAMPDEN — Foxcroft Academy sophomore Charles Keeton won the high jump at the 2026 Penobscot Valley Conference junior varsity outdoor track and field championship at Hampden Academy on May 27.

Keeton cleared a height of 5 feet, 2 inches for the top performance among a half dozen entrants. He was two inches above the 5-00 for runner-up freshman William Emerson of the host school. 

Keeton also finished in the top 10 in both hurdle events. He was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at 21.98 seconds and eighth in the 300 hurdles at 57.15 seconds.

800: 7. Foxcroft junior Ethen Eakright 2:25.91;

1,600: 3. Eakright 5;23.76 and 6. Foxcroft freshman Salvatore Rizzitello 5:27.40;

110 hurdles: 3. Foxcroft freshman Josiah Thomas 21.09 seconds;

300 hurdles: 3. Thomas 51.28 seconds;

High jump: 5. Rizzitello 4-10;

Long jump: 4. Rizzitello 15-0 and 8. Foxcroft freshman Westin Donahue 14-02;

Shot put: 5. Foxcroft junior Liam Pratt 33-09.50;

Discus: 4. Pratt 101-08 and 8. Penquis Valley High School senior Vegas Carey 92-01.

Girls 100 finals: 3. Foxcroft sophomore Lexi Bjornson 14.46 seconds;

100 prelims: 9. Foxcroft freshman Melanie Cornellier 14.96 seconds;

200: 6. Foxcroft freshman Terra Morrison 31.10 seconds;

4×100 relay: 3. Foxcroft Cornellier, freshman Chloe Han, Morrison, Bjornson 59.61 seconds;

Long jump: 7. Piscataquis Community High School freshman Mya Knight 13-03;

Javelin: 3. Bjornson 71-08.
