Local Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race results
More than a half dozen paddlers from across the region took part in the 59th annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race covering 16.5 miles from Kenduskeag Village to downtown Bangor on April 18.
In the kayak 1-person long division, Orion Fleming of Parkman came in third among seven entrants with a time of 2 hours, 22 minutes, 2 seconds.
For kayak 1-person short, Ronald Harvey of Dexter was seventh of 14 in 3:19.32.
In kayak 1-person recreation, Jeanne Moore of Dover-Foxcroft placed 15th among 24 in 4:54.10; followed by Dakota Raymond of Garland in 16th at 4:54.19; and Brian Moore of Dover-Foxcroft in 17th at 4:54.29.
Aiden Mciver and Billy Smith of Greenville earned top honors in canoe 2-person beginner — among 27 entrants — in a time of 3:08.02.
For canoe 2-person short beginner, Michael Derespino of Charleston and Jonathan Brenner of Williamstown, Massachusetts were third of 14 in 3:26.24.
